There’s a very auspicious kitty holiday around the corner. June 24th is Cat World Domination Day! Is Fluffy actually plotting to take over the world? Or is she satisfied with stealing our chairs? If our feline overlords are planning a takeover, what will their plan of attack be? Read on as a Washington DC vet lists some key kitty manipulation tactics.
Does your furball like to sleep on your computer? Don’t be fooled by this seemingly-innocent behavior. This may be Fluffy’s attempt to fill up the world wide web with even more cat videos!
Fluffy may practice world domination on her canine roommate. She may start by pouncing on Fido’s tail, and work up to stealing his bed.
Does your kitty sprawl out on books and magazines you’re trying to read? This is Fluffy’s way of making sure that you pay attention to her, instead of enriching yourself by reading.
Do you sometimes find your feline buddy just staring at you? Fluffy may be working on a Jedi mind trick, and trying to dominate you through hypnosis. (Then again, she may simply be bored or nosy. With cats, it’s hard to tell. )
Have you ever heard a crash coming from another room, followed by the distinctive sound of Fluffy running away? This is one of the oldest tricks in the book: diversion!
Kitties are fierce hunters in the wild. You may very well have thought that your furry little friend’s playful antics when she attacks her toys were just instinctive behaviors. However, we suspect that Fluffy is actually just practicing her battle skills.
Cats soothing purrs have many wonderful qualities. They also make great sleep aids. When your feline pal cuddles up on your lap, is she just trying to get you to let your guard down?
What would happen if kitties actually did take over the world? Well, come to think of it, the outcome may not be that bad. Fluffy may demand that every house have a cat tower, catnip garden, and stocked fishpond. You may also be required to provide your furball with a certain amount of cardboard boxes each month, and/or to cuddle your pet on demand. Things could be worse!
