Dr. Pervaiz Manzoor
Owner, Veterinarian
Dr. Pervaiz Manzoor grew up around house pets and farm animals where his love for veterinary medicine was first sparked. Ever since he was a young boy, Dr. Manzoor knew that helping pets to live happy, healthy lives as a veterinary professional was his true calling! His dream never wavered—now, he’s been helping the animal companions and pet parents of Brentwood for more than 35 years.

Dr. Manzoor graduated from the University of the Punjab in Pakistan in 1972, and has been tending to the needs of animals ever since. He purchased Brentwood Animal Hospital in 1982, and has served as the President of the D.C. Academy of Veterinary Medicine. He takes great pride in leading the younger generation of veterinarians and veterinary professionals through his mentorship work—several employees have gone on to become veterinarians—and he’s also passionate about animal welfare—ever since working at the Humane Society in New York many years ago, Dr. Manzoor has dedicated his time to serving as an advocate and activist for our animal companions.

Dr. Manzoor regularly seeks continuing education opportunities and exposure to new developments in the veterinary field, and strives to never stop learning. He attends continuing education conferences frequently, and invests in state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment to be able to provide the most sophisticated level of care available to the area’s pets.

Dr. Manzoor has one pet of his own, a tiny Maltese named Toby. Dr. Manzoor can often be seen walking Toby on the front lawn of Brentwood Animal Hospital. Feel free to stop by and say hello!
Dr. Rauf Ahmad
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Rauf Ahmad was raised in agricultural Pakistan, growing up in an extended family with a farming background. It wasn’t difficult for him to develop a passion for animal care early on in life! For Dr. Ahmad, serving pets and the loving families who care for them is a dream come true, and he’s proud to help the animal companions of Brentwood as an Associate Veterinarian.

Dr. Ahmad received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 1993, as well as his Master’s degree in Microbiology, from the University of Agriculture Faisalabad in Pakistan. After graduating, he worked as a Field Veterinarian for a year before joining the staff at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences’ teaching hospital in Lahore.

Dr. Ahmad moved to the United States in 1998—after earning his Master’s degree in information technology from the University of Maryland in 2003, he became an IT Specialist at the University for several years before the pull of the veterinary profession called once again. He obtained his veterinary license in 2007, and began working at another local clinic later that year before joining the Brentwood Animal Hospital family in 2010.

As a vet, Dr. Ahmad is particularly fond of internal medicine work and ultrasound scanning. He’s a strong proponent of continuing education, and is a member of the D.C. Academy of Veterinary Medicine as well as the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Ahmad is also certified by the United States Department of Agriculture, and can even issue international health certificates for pets traveling to foreign countries!

At home, Dr. Ahmad and his wife share their lives with their four wonderful boys and a beautiful young daughter.

I take care of a cat in my backyard, and she had 3 babies and I bought them here to get checked out and any shots needed. The staff was very nice, the Doctor I think his name was Dr. Manzoor was very polite and answered all of my questions. The prices were reasonable being as though I had three little ones. I am going back for the second round of shots and will highly recommend this Vet to anyone. Thanks again to the staff at Brentwood you rock!

Its hard to understand why so many people are defining the whole hospitals service based on one persons action caused by a misunderstanding. Both sides were in the wrong and only one side seems to be apologizing. It does not mean the doctor and veterinarian technicians' treatment towards the clients were insufficient .They are kind, caring, and knowledgeable animal lovers, who want whats best for every clients' beloved pet. The hospital staff has been more than amazing to me.
ps. If you are so keen to ruin a hospitals reputation, please remember you are affecting many others' jobs. And if you are telling others to be friendly and kind, you and your friends should know you are not being just that toward the hospital.
