Our Careteam

Michael Roberts

Practice Manager

Michael has always held a deep affinity for our animal companions, especially cats. When he reached a point in his life and career that allowed him to pursue less lucrative but more satisfying work, he made a decision: why not improve the lives of others by working hands-on with pets? Now, Michael is pleased to serve as Brentwood Animal Hospital’s General Manager.

Michael is originally from California but spent most of his formative years growing up on the East Coast. After finishing his undergraduate studies he completed his advanced degree work overseas before returning to the United States and taking a job managing sales at an international electronics supplier based in Georgetown. Next, he took a few years off and worked as a salesman before deciding to jump headfirst into the world of veterinary medicine.

After a few years spent caring for pets at a general practitioner’s office, Michael moved to a cats-only hospital and then to a surgical specialty provider, further expanding his knowledge and experience within the world of animal care. He then joined the Brentwood Animal Hospital team, and has now worked alongside Dr. Manzoor and the hospital team for the better part of 20 years.

At home, Michael and his wife, Sandy—a decorated Navy veteran who provided direct support for actions in the Middle East, Northern Africa, Eastern Europe and the Western Pacific just to name a few—share their lives with several cats, all of whom are former strays or ferals who have been nursed back to health and socialized by the couple. When he isn’t spending time with his own pets or caring for the area’s companions here at the hospital, Michael is an avid sailor, and spent many happy years at the helm of his 26-foot sloop, Rouge. Sandy rarely passes up an opportunity to tease Michael about his boat-handling skills; after all, she’s skippered the 500-ton frigate, HMS Surprise, back when it was known as the HMS Rose!

Cierra Dilks

Veterinary Technician

Ever since she was a little girl growing up in Baltimore, Cierra had a special way of thinking when it came to animals. She wanted to do everything in her power to help them live the best lives that they possibly could. As she got older, Cierra started to develop interests in biology, anatomy, and physiology—what better way to couple her love of pets with her passion for the sciences, she realized, than by working as a veterinary professional? Cierra plans on becoming a veterinarian herself in the near future!

Cierra moved to Pasadena at the age of 13, and has lived in the area ever since. She’s currently studying full-time at the University of Maryland, and joined the Brentwood Animal Hospital family in the fall of 2017 as a Veterinary Technician. Cierra is also a board member of the Pre-Veterinary Society at the University—she plans on continuing on to veterinary school after earning her undergraduate degree.

Here at the hospital, Cierra loves to learn new things on a daily basis; she loves supplementing her studies with hands-on pet-care experience. She particularly enjoys reading blood-test results and helping nervous or anxious patients to feel more comfortable. Most of all, Cierra loves knowing that she’s able to make a true difference in the lives of the area’s beloved pets!

At home, Cierra shares her life with two energetic and playful canine companions: Calvin, a Siberian Retriever, and Bandit the dachshund.

Peter Namasaka

Senior Veterinary Technician

Peter developed a love for animals, especially cats, when he was just a young boy. His passion for pet care hasn’t let up since—he’s been working in the veterinary profession since the tender age of 19, and has been a member of the Brentwood Animal Hospital family for more than 16 years! Peter is proud to serve the area’s pets and animal owners as a Veterinary Technician.

Originally from Washington, D.C., Peter began his veterinary journey at another local animal hospital when he signed on as a receptionist. One day in the early summer of 2000, Peter asked the veterinarian if any help was needed in the examination rooms—little did he know that he was embarking, right then and there, on a life-changing career path! He’s been caring for pets hands-on ever since.

After receiving formal training from the doctor at his first veterinary clinic, Peter joined the Brentwood Animal Hospital team in 2002. He’s proud to have learned from many veterinarians and orthopedic surgeons since, and looks forward to continuing to serve the pets and owners of this area in the coming years!
